Former Subway spokesman and IU alumnus Jared Fogle is appealing his sentence of more than 15 years in prison and fine of $175,000.
Fogle was sentenced and immediately taken into the custody of the United States Marshal on November 19.
He pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography and a second count of traveling across state lines to engage in illicit sexual misconduct with a minor.
In addition to his time in prison, Fogle was ordered to pay $100,000 restitution to 14 victims. If any further victims are revealed then Fogle will be responsible for their restitution as well.
The court recommended Fogle participate in sex offender and alcohol dependency treatment in a prison in Littleton, Colorado.
During the sentencing, defense attorney Jeremy Margolis and forensic psychiatrist John Bradford argued that Fogle's infamous eating disorder may have been linked with his pedophilia.
"The reality is that Jared Fogle traded a horrible food addiction for a horrible sex addiction," Margolis said.
Fogle was sentenced by Judge Tanya Walton Pratt, who also sentenced his co-conspirator Russell Taylor on December 10. Taylor pleaded guilty to 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of creation and distribution of child pornography. Taylor must serve at least 85 percent of his 27-year sentence.
