Junior guard Troy Williams drives to the net against North Carolina on Friday evening at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA — North Carolina couldn't seem to miss.

What resulted was a 101-86 win, eliminating No. 5 IU from the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet 16 and advancing No. 1 North Carolina to the Elite Eight.

The Tar Heels were led by 21 points from guard Marcus Paige, who finished the game 5-of-6 from behind the arc after making his first five 3-pointers of the game. Forward Brice Johnson also scored 20 points.

As a team, North Carolina shot 55 percent from behind the arc and 52 from the field. The Tar Heels entered Friday night only shooting 31 percent on 3-pointers this season but made their first seven of the game.

IU was led by 25 points from senior guard Yogi Ferrell. Junior forward Troy Williams also added 21 points, including 14 of IU's 16 points to start the second half.

The careers of Ferrell, senior guard Nick Zeisloft and senior forwards Max Bielfeldt and Ryan Burton are over. Zeisloft finished the game 0-for-3 from behind the arc and was held scoreless. Bielfeldt scored 15 points and Burton played one minute in the first half.
