Guoping Wang, a former senior lecturer at the Jacobs School of Music, has been charged with sexual battery by force and criminal confinement.
IU fired Wang after an investigation into a sexual assault a student reported on campus March 28.
On July 14, a judge signed a warrant for Wang’s arrest, which was carried out later that day. Wang’s battery charges required him to serve 24 hours of jail time, according to his attorney.
His jail time expired at 6:30 p.m. July 15. Wang will have his pre-trial conference at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 12.
