An underground utility explosion occurred Friday evening near 10th and Walnut Grove, an IU safety spokesperson confirmed.
There were no injuries or above ground damage, according to the final IU notice.
IUPD said Duke Energy is responding and no criminal activity is suspected.
IU sent a first notice around 7 p.m. about the incident referring to "dangerous situation". It was in reference to the explosion, not a dangerous person.
