Happy Birthday, Marge!

Help us wish Marge a happy 80th birthday!

Marjorie Smith Blewett, a former Indiana Daily Student editor in chief and the IU School of Journalism placement director from 1968 to 1990, will celebrate her 80th birthday this year.

The School of Journalism and the IU Student Media staff want to honor Marge for her ongoing friendship and loyalty. We plan to surprise (sh -- don't tell!) her with cake and song in the newsroom on her birthday March 5, 2007.

If you are in town and want to join the celebration, please come by the newsroom at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007.

Marge, How I remember hanging out in your office, bugging you about internships and jobs! Thanks for getting me a summer at the Wabash Plain Dealer (with Merv Hendricks!) and my first "real" job at Sturgis, Michigan. That was only yesterday, right? You always looked after us.
