A male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of the Indiana 45/46 Bypass and Dunn Street.

The collision occurred about 50 feet west of the intersection on the Bypass. The driver of a Chrysler sedan was traveling westbound through the intersection and had a green light.

The pedestrian was attempting to cross south across the Bypass and was only several feet from the north guardrail when the vehicle hit him, said a police officer on the scene.

The pedestrian was taken away by ambulance at about 1:15 a.m.

Police did not release any additional information at the scene.
