Josh MacTaggart just doesn’t lose.

The freshman sensation continued his early season run by claiming a singles title at the Big Ten Indoor Championships today. It was the first time an IU player has won a Big Ten championship since 1977.

MacTaggart, who has won all but one of his singles matches this fall, beat Michigan’s Chris Madden by a score of 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 in the final. Madden knocked IU junior Santiago Gruter out of the tournament in the semifinal round earlier Monday.

For a complete story on MacTaggart’s title, pick up Tuesday’s edition of the Indiana Daily Student.
