Students and alumni hoping to celebrate a win against Kentucky Friday night should be aware of additional Bloomington police who will be on patrol.

Capt. Joe Qualters of the Bloomington Police Department said more police than usual will work Friday night because of the IU-Kentucky basketball game.

Qualters said he hopes the officers won’t be needed for anything other than making sure the potential victory celebration stays civil.

However, he said it’s important they are present in case anything other than that hopeful circumstance occurs.
