The Target at College Mall is the highest grossing “Back to College” Target in the United States.

During the weeks surrounding move-in, the store has a 220 percent increase in sales, and it takes three delivery trucks per day to keep the “Back to College” goods in stock.

Why is it so popular?
“Compared to Targets in other college towns, ours is much closer to campus,” said Deb Cobb, executive of guest experience. “Plus, IU has a large number of international students. It tends to be cheaper for them to refurnish their apartments every year rather than transport furniture back and forth.”
