According to The Royal Gazette in Bermuda, 23-year-old David Thomas has pleaded guilty to the Aug. 5 death of Alexander Doty, IU professor and chair of the Department of Communication and Culture.

Thomas hit Doty with his motorcycle Aug. 1. The accident inflicted substantial brain injury from which Doty later passed away.

Thomas pleaded not guilty to driving with excess alcohol in the blood.
