"Every Friday I talk to Mickey about all the stories he has for the following week, and it's overwhelming sometimes," said campus editor Sarah Brubeck. "He usually has at least one story a day, often more, and he's always willing to take emergency pitches. He works for all the desks and juggles so much at once, but somehow he makes it all work."

My favorite story I've written so far...
“My favorite story was the HIV story. It was top of the fold. I was so proud of it because I broke a story – I heard it word of mouth and then invesitgated the story.”

My favorite IDS memory...
“Just how Sara Amato uses her scooter around the newsroom and tells everyone she hates them. It’s just her in general.”

My favorite part about working at the IDS...
“My favorite part of working at the IDS is I get to ask lots of dumb questions and people don’t act like I’m stupid for asking them.”

I would tell students hesitant about working at the IDS that...
“To just jump in and really just throw yourself into it. That’s the way to get better, get experience and you have a lot of kids who are here to help you. It’s really an emphasis on team atmosphere.”
