"Candice is an extremely hard worker who will do anything you ask of her and is extremely persistent," said sports editor Sean Morrison. "She started working for us in the summer and has never looked back. Her work over the summer saved me a lot of stress, and I'd trust her with any assignment and any deadline for it because she has proven herself."

What are your interests?
“College football and basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, wishing and praying for the Cubs to finally win a World Series, running, reading and discussing sports.”
My favorite story I’ve written so far...
“A story that I wrote about all of the Academic All-Big Ten Team athletes. I got to speak to Athletics Director Fred Glass, and was really impressed —surprised— with how down-to-earth and enjoyable he was to talk to.”
My favorite IDS memory...
“Going to the Mid-America Press Institute ‘Covering Sports in a Twitter World’ conference in St. Louis this summer, and going to a Cardinals vs. Giants game while wearing a Cubs jersey.”
My favorite part about working at the IDS...
“Getting to meet the athletes I watch on TV everyday.”
I would tell students hesitant about working at the IDS that...
“It may seem intimidating at first, but the experience you gain makes it all worthwhile. Plus, everyone is more than willing to help you make the transition from academic writing, and to help you become a better writer. I would recommend starting earlier in your college career—instead of later like I did— in order to build more experience and to experiment and excel with other forms of media.”
