Mail Boxes Etc. makes move to IMU location

The post office branch has long been a fixture of the Indiana Memorial Union. \nBut those days are over. It will shut its doors for good Thursday.\n"Once we announced that we'd be closing, there've been a lot of unhappy people," said Becky Self, a senior mail clerk. "We've heard a lot of people complaining. After all, we've been here every year."\nTom Simmons, associate director of the IMU, said the branch had ceased to be profitable.\n"We put out a request for proposals, knowing its lease would expire," he said. "The most favorable response came from Mail Boxes Etc."\nSimmons said the business will move in after a two-week renovation. \n"They'll provide all of the same services at the same prices," he said. "It'll be the same, but with expanded services like photo passports and mailbox space."\n The inclusion of Mail Boxes Etc. should benefit patrons, Simmons said. "We're really excited about it," he said. "It should provide additional services to the campus community"
