Golden Key recieves award for excellence\nThe IU Bloomington chapter of the Golden Key National Honor Society received the Honorable Mention Key Chapter Award at last month's Golden Key International Convention in Los Angeles.\nThe honor is bestowed on chapters that have demonstrated excellence in communication, publicity, meeting management, chapter activities and leadership, as well as participation in regional and international programs, according to a press release.\n"For our chapter to win honorable mention was a humbling honor," said Darrell Ann Stone, the chapter's adviser. "They were very proud."\nGolden Key, a non-profit, international academic honor society with 300 chapters in eight countries, is open to the top 15 percent of all college juniors and seniors in all fields of study. The IU chapter is composed of more than 500 members.\nDelta Alpha chapter of ATO wins awards\nThe Delta Alpha chapter of Alpha Tau Omega at IU received the ATO Excellence in Scholarship Award from the Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity. The award honors the chapter for having a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0 over the course of the 1999-2000 academic year.\nThe Delta Alpha chapter was also named the National Runner-up of the Erskine Mayo Ross IMPACT Award for Outstanding Charitable Giving. The award recognizes the chapter that most exemplifies outstanding charitable giving in their communities and beyond.\nThe awards were presented to the chapter at the final banquet at Alpha Tau Omega's 74th Biennial Congress in Orlando, Fla.
