The men's tennis team competed in the unscored Tom Fallon Invitational in South Bend this weekend, giving players a chance to compete and coaches a chance to see where the players stand. Junior Rahman Smiley, freshman Bernard Tsepelman and senior Ricardo Jordan won in singles play.\nSmiley won two matches Saturday, the first over Rice's Richard Barker 6-4, 6-4, and the second over Fabien Giraud, also from Rice, 6-2, 6-4. Tsepelman won over Bryan Acken and Jake Cram of Notre Dame, 6-1, 6-4 and 6-5, 6-2, respectively. Jordan also won two straight set matches Saturday. Smiley and Tsepelman were also won Friday, defeating opponents from Wisconsin.\nThe doubles teams were not as successful, as each of the three teams were defeated both days. The next tournament in which the team will compete is the Clemson Invitational next weekend in Clemson, S.C.
