Soak in surroundings of a beautiful campus

I would like to echo President Brand's letter to the students regarding respecting the landscape of the Bloomington Campus. As an alumnus, I smile when I think of the lush lawn of the Arboretum, the crack of the leaves in the fall through Dunn Meadow and the gentle sounds of the Jordan River. Respect what you have now, because you will dream of it when you leave after graduation. Living in California, I relish the times I am back in Bloomington and walk the paths I did when I was a student. IU-Bloomington is one of the most beautiful campuses you will ever encounter.\nNot only respect what is now your home, but stop every once in a while, look around, smile and soak in your surroundings. The feeling of walking through the meadow on a crisp fall day, hearing the sounds of the chimes and seeing the rich and vibrant colors of the leaves cannot be replicated anywhere. Give thanks to those who maintain it for you, and by all means enjoy it while you can. It will always be one of your fondest memories of your time at IU.
