Senior outside hitter Amanda Welter didn't get her wish to beat No.13 Penn State. The volleyball team fell to the Nittany Lions in three games last night at State College (7-15, 10-15, 9-15). The Hoosiers fell to 12-7, 3-6 in league play, while Penn State improved to 17-4, 6-3.\nThree players had double figures in kills for the Hoosiers. Welter led the team with 18 kills and a .485 hitting percentage. Freshmen Melissa Brewer and Nicole Hill posted 13 kills apiece.\nFreshman outside hitter Monique Pritz made her first start for the Hoosiers and recorded five kills and five blocks.\nIU led Penn State in total attacks and total team blocks, but it was the offensive power of junior outside hitter Katie Schumacher and sophomore middle hitter Mishka Levy for the Nittany Lions that were too much for the Hoosiers.\n"Levy and Schumacher played very good with only a couple of errors," coach Katie Weismiller said. "They played tough."\nThe Hoosiers return to Big Ten play this weekend when the travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Buckeyes, which will be aired tape-delay on ESPN2.
