Columnist should also examine board of trustees

I thank Mr. Wulf for his analysis of IU's low rankings ("Poor leadership, low rankings," Nov. 6) and for showing us IU President Myles Brand's modus operandi: \n1) He denies these rankings and tries to deceive students, alumni, the press and the public about IU's academic standing.\n2) No matter what the problem, be it low rankings or low salaries, Brand blames flawed reports or blames the taxpayers for not giving him enough money. It's never his failure as a leader. \nI also encourage Wulf to include the board of trustees in his truth-finding mission. Brand is its most glaring failure, it still supports him, and just after its last board meeting, echoed the same denials as Brand about the rankings in an article in The Herald-Times. There will be no new president and no improvement under this current board.\nMary Ann McCarty\nClass of 1976\nTake Back IU
