Edwards' column misleading

After reading Chris Edwards' extremely critical article regarding George W. Bush and his bid for the presidency ("The wrong president, Nov. 10), I, once again, discovered how ignorant some people can be. I don't know where Mr. Edwards gets some of his information, but it sure sounds like he has been brainwashed by Al Gore and his whole regime of lies and deception. \nWell, Mr. Edwards, let's take a look at your incessant rambling. First of all, you say that George W. is a president that most citizens don't want? Well, look at Slick Willy himself.\nA lesser percentage of citizens voted for Bill Clinton in 1992 when he was elected president than have voted for Bush now. I know there were three parties back then and all, but the point is -- fewer people wanted Clinton to be president then than do Bush in the present election.\nNext, you proceed in a load of unsubstantiated accusations regarding his "frat boy" mentality. Real mature. Tax cuts for the rich? Well, when they pay most of the taxes, it is only natural that they would get a good return in a nationwide taxcut. Then Chris essentially preaches hatred toward "rich" people before accusing Bush of being the candidate of racism and elitism, among other things. \nWell, Chris, hatred is wrong no matter who it is directed against. Your hypocrisy is overwhelming. Before you accuse others of certain vices, look in the mirror. Just as Chris said, I could go on, but what's the point? Bush might come with some baggage, but compared to his competition, he is a saint. Gore is a liar and a cheat. He will do and say anything to become president. He has lied on numerous occasions to manipulate the trusting American people into believing his accusations toward Bush and his views. If there is one thing that we will get out of Bush, it will be honesty. \nI realize that Mr. Edwards might be upset with the outcome of this election, but that gives him no right to say the things he did. He is the epitome of the liberal sway of college campuses. Well, you liberals have had your time, now all we can ask is that you let us have ours.\nSteven Witt\nFreshman
