This letter is in response to the letter in the Nov. 21 IDS from the Palm Beach County resident ("Throwing out Palm Beach votes is unfair"). \nI am not a resident of Palm Beach County, but I figured their ballot out pretty easily. But he complains of "Republican press releases." Well, that is one, but most of the media is more liberal so it leans more toward the Democratic side. That press release wasn't printed in just "Republican" papers. It was printed in all of them and it was on several television news shows. \nAs for a "travesty," oh, come on. You wouldn't be complaining if Al Gore won would you? Both parties are whining and crying but Gore is the biggest whiner out there. \nAs for your Florida state law, well, I have heard several legal analysts on "liberal" media networks say the state law says that butterfly ballots are illegal on hand votes, but when a machine is used to count them, it is fine. Plus the ballot was sent out 10 days in advance. Sorry if the bright and shiny lights distracted you. \nNow I don't know, but FloriDUH is just impeding the rest of the country. We're all sick of FloriDUH wasting our time. I think my dad said it the best, "If they're that stupid to screw up that ballot their vote shouldn't count anyways." Thousands of school children have never had problem with it. Neither did a sample of New Yorkers. \nOne New Yorker offered some advice to help all you FloriDUH voters out there: Get out of the sun. It's fried your brain. So you Floridians blew it. You screwed up. Well, if you don't like it, secede and save us the headaches next time.\nTodd Usher\nSophomore
