While the Oct. 25 IDS article, "Science pitted against religion," tried to undermine the relationship between science and Islam, the teachings of Islam prove otherwise. \nIn Islam, there are two realms of knowledge -- that of the natural world about which we are encouraged to understand to the best of our knowledge through scientific experiment. The other realm is that of the spiritual world about which we learn from God's revealed text and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad. \nIn no way do these spheres of knowledge contradict each other. So Muslims are encouraged to learn as much "scientific" knowledge as they can as is evident in the saying of Prophet Muhammad "seek knowledge from the cradle until the grave." Thank you and God bless.\nSamir Abdo\nSenior
