Union Board is presenting "Project Respect Diversity Kickoff," a week of diversity aimed at promoting education on cultures, activities and situations that occur every day. \nAmong the week's events are "Star Power" at 7 p.m. today in the Georgian Room of the Indiana Memorial Union. It is an interactive program addressing socio-economic issues and the concept of privilege. The simulation will provide insight into the difficulty of mobility between socio-economic classes. Prizes will be awarded to the most prosperous mobilizers. Refreshments will be provided.\nAt 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Briscoe Quad Activity Room, there will be a performance by Raising Awareness of Interactions in Sexual Encounters. The presentation aimed at helping people understand rape through a victim's eyes, according to a Union Board press release. \nVice President for Student Development and Diversity Charlie Nelms will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Frangipani Room of the IMU. He will discuss minorities in graduate school and minority involvement throughout the campus.\nProject Respect is an annual campaign on campus to collect signatures of people pledging to appreciate the diversity and differences in the population. The signatures are made into a Project Respect poster that will be unveiled in January 2001.
