The volleyball team rebounded from a loss against No. 7 Minnesota to defeat Iowa in three matches Saturday. The Hoosiers fell to the Golden Gophers (22-2, 11-2 in conference play) in three matches, 15-2, 18-16, 15-11. IU improved to 14-10, 5-9 in Big Ten play with a 15-7, 15-11, 15-13 win over the Buckeyes.\nThe Hoosiers managed only a 0.133 hitting percentage against Minnesota, but had several players post strong numbers. Sophomore setter Laurie Gardner led the team with a 0.273 hitting percentage and 43 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Hillary Toivonen led the team with 14 kills, and freshman middle blocker Melissa Brewer trailed closely with 12 kills.\nThe team improved its hitting percentage and overall play in the victory against Iowa. The Hoosiers posted a 0.257 hitting percentage with senior outside hitter Laura Dewitz leading the way. Dewitz had a 0.500 hitting percentage and eight kills. Freshman outside hitter Nikki Hill followed with a 0.367 percentage, and led the team with 13 kills.\nThe Hoosiers return to the University Gym for the next four matches, beginning with a match against No. 5 Wisconsin Friday night.
