Volunteer opportunities

Madrigal dinner servers\nAbout 15 volunteers are needed to serve dinner at the Madrigal Feast Dec. 2 and Dec. 8. Historic outfits will be provided. This is a fund-raiser for Abilities Unlimited, which sends children with disablilities to camp and provides other services to area residents with disabilities. Minimum age for volunteers is 16. Contact Lynne Argent at 332-1620 or abunlim@bloomington.in.us.\nFood pantry volunteers\nVolunteers are needed by Mother Hubbard's Cupboard food pantry, which distributes food to individuals and families meeting stated guidelines. The job requires stacking, lifting, greeting and helping people who come to the pantry for supplies. Shifts are two hours long. Minimum age is 15, although families are encouraged to volunteer together. Contact Jessica Mott at 331-1325.\nTake pets to cheer up nursing home residents\nThe VIPaws (Very Important Paws) pet visiting group will hold an orientation meeting for people interested in taking their dogs or cats to visit residents of nursing homes, hospitals and others who are cheered by companion animals.
