At about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Ellettsville police said a white male strolled into Joe G's Used Furniture and More, displayed a revolver and threatened the cashier. He taped her mouth shut and her hands behind her back, forcing her into the back room. He walked away with about $200 from the cash register, $75 from her purse and a briefcase from behind the counter, according to the police.\nAfter the subject left, police said the cashier walked to the front of the store to call 911.\nCaptain Jay Humphrey of the Ellettsville Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after the call to find the cashier uninjured but upset. He said she told him the subject had come to the store earlier that day and was looking at mattresses. She said the man told her he had to get money and would return.\nBut when he returned a few hours later, he brought, not money, but a revolver, she told police.\nThe man is described as a clean-shaven white male of slender build, about 5-foot-10, with short, dark-brown hair and wearing a navy baseball cap.\nThe subject left the store driving a blue pickup truck. Evidence Technician J.D. Maxwell of the Indiana State Police found fingerprints at the scene.\nHumphrey said the fingerprints and other leads will be followed in the next few days. But anyone who has additional information should call the Ellettsville Police at 876-2272 or 876-2270.\nThe Bloomington Police Department is also looking for a subject who reportedly held up an IU student at about 6 p.m. Monday in the Jackson Heights apartment complex, Sgt. Bob Neely said.\nNeely said the student was returning to his home from an errand when a man ran up to his car, held out a gun, demanded cash and took off running toward campus.\nThe man got away with less than $100 in cash, according to police.\nPolice described the man as a white male with a full beard wearing a black baseball cap.\nNeely said there is always a possibility of a connection between the two robberies, but he is doubtful because of the distance between the two events. He said it is possible the man could have shaved during the night, but it is only speculation at this point.
