Sophomore Rachelle Boone won the 60- and 200-meter dashes at the exhibition Smith Barney Invitational Saturday at IU-Purdue University at Indianapolis' National Institute for Fitness and Sport facility.\nBoone's time of 24.31 seconds in the 200-meter dash was a career best and near the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 24.25 seconds. Sophomore Danielle Carruthers placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.69 seconds and finished second to Le'gretta Smith of the Indiana Invaders in the 60-meter low hurdles with a time of 8.45 seconds.\nSophomore Rose Richmond placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.71 meters.\nIn the 800-meter dash, junior Stephanie Magley placed second behind Hope Sanders of the Indiana Invaders while freshman Audrey Giesler took fifth and senior Courtney Bell finished eighth. Magley and Gielser ran career best times. \nSophomore Whitney Bevins also recorded a career best time of 5:08.41 minutes in the mile with an eighth-place finish. Freshman Lauren Weddell placed fifth.\nThe Hoosiers will compete in the Indiana Invitational at 4 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday at Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse.
