The women's track and field team won nine of 15 events, but tied with Michigan 81-81 Saturday in Ann Arbor.\nThe Hoosiers trailed the Wolverines 78-76 heading into the final event, the 4x400-meter relay. IU edged Michigan by one second to tally five points to the Wolverines' three.\nWhile the Hoosiers couldn't win a long-distance running event and gave up the top four spots in the 600-meter, they dominated the field events.\nSenior All-American Jennifer Brown was the Hoosiers' highest scorer with 10 points for wins in the 20-pound weight throw and the shot put. Her throw of 18.27 meters in the weight throw exceeded the provisional NCAA championship-qualifying standard of 17.70 meters. \nJunior Heather Colyer placed second in the weight throw (15.73 meters) and fourth in the shot put. Senior Tandra Foster and sophomore All-American Rose Richmond finished first and second respectively, in the long jump, while sophomore Nicole Randolph won the high jump.\nSophomore All-American Danielle Carruthers also came close to provisional qualification (8.43 seconds) in the 60-meter hurdles with her win in 8.47. The runner-up, Tasha Phillips of Michigan, finished in 9.04.\nIn the sprinting events, senior All-American Lorraine Dunlop won the 60-meter dash and took second place to sophomore All-American Rachelle Boone in the 200 meters. Junior Tia Trent cruised to victory by two seconds in the 400 meters. Her time of 55.48 marks a career-best indoor time.
