The Miracle ticket is running in the IU Student Association elections for two reasons: to amplify the individual voice of every student on this campus and to work with issues that concern those students which can be successfully negotiated within our one-year term. These are the two things we feel can greatly improve the lives of students right here, right now. \n Although we feel that long-term issues are important, we feel it is the short-term issues that will have the greatest impact on student's lives.\nStudents care about the problems they face now, while they are still students, and they want to see those issues dealt with while they can still reap the benefits. The Miracle ticket is the best option for students because we believe in the individual and the individual's right to have the best experience possible while at IU. \nWe are not running because we think student government is a good resume builder. We are not running because we have nothing better to do with our time. We are well-rounded individuals who are going through the same things you are on a daily basis. We like IU basketball and don't want to see it turned into a "club sport." We have members who are in fraternities and sororities. We have members of the military and members who are three-nights-a-week partiers. \nWhat separates us from everyone else is that we are realistic. We have a good grasp on what can be accomplished while we are in office, and what cannot. We know the best way to improve your life is to find out what concerns you and deal with it. If you elect the Miracle ticket, you are electing people who want to help you have the best experience possible at IU. \nWhen we started, we challenged ourselves to be the most accessible student government of all times, and we will be if elected. We challenged ourselves to come up with issues that are important to the students and can be dealt with within a year. I believe that we have. \nWe want to redistribute computers on campus from low-traffic areas to high-traffic areas, such as the Union, Jordan Hall, Ballantine Hall and both sides of the Main Library. \nHow many of you are tired of waiting forever for a computer in the Indiana Memorial Union? We want to put small clocks at all the bus stops, so students will know when the next bus is due to arrive. How many times have you waited and waited because you didn't know what time it is? \nWe want to make online registration a reality, so students don't have to go to Franklin Hall and wait in line. Isn't it a pain to go all the way across campus when you have a computer in your bedroom? \nWe want to create a bus schedule in which buses run from the bars on Kirkwood and Walnut, Thursday-Saturday from 10 p.m. until 3:00 a.m., back to campus. Are you scared about the amount of drunken driving that has been going on since the administration put campus parties on lock-down? We are. \nWe want to make the campus access card a debit card that can be used at more places on campus, as well as local businesses (TIS, Collegiate Copies, gas stations, bars). Wouldn't it be nice not to have to write a check for your books? We will continue to fight for tax-free textbooks. As a student, you pay enough in tuition and other fees to attend this University; you shouldn't have to pay taxes on textbooks. \nIf I haven't convinced you to vote for us by now, I'm sorry I wasted your time. For those of you who want a student government that will fight for things that improve your life at IU, vote for the Miracle ticket today or tomorrow. We do believe in Miracles.
