Classic filmmaker Stanley Kramer dies at age 87\nProducer-director Stanley Kramer, whose nearly three dozen films included such classics as "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," "Judgment at Nuremberg" and "Inherit the Wind," died Monday at the Motion Picture & Television Hospital in Woodland Hills. He was 87 and had been ill with pneumonia. \nIn the 1950s and '60s, first as producer and later as producer-director, Kramer explored such issues as race in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" and "The Defiant Ones," Nazi war crimes in "Judgment at Nuremberg," fundamentalism versus modern science in "Inherit the Wind" and nuclear holocaust in "On the Beach." \n"He stood for things that nobody else ever stood for in those days," Karen Sharpe Kramer, his wife of 35 years, said.\nOrchestra marks Black History Month with concert\nThe Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will perform its 16th annual "Celebration of Black History" concert with Raymond Harvey, former ISO Exxon Arts Endowment Assistant Conductor and violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis.\nDance Kaleidoscope to present 'Passion'\nContemporary dance ensemble Dance Kaleidoscope will perform "Passion" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Indianapolis Civic Theatre.
