Graduate student Shakila Shayan, 27, a resident of the 400 block of South Henderson Street, collided with an IU bus early Thursday afternoon when she turned her bicycle into the side of a bus near the intersection of Seventh and Fess Streets. \nIU Police Department Lt. Jerry Minger said Shayan had been riding her bicycle eastbound on the sidewalk when she turned into the street and into the side of the bus, also heading eastbound.\nThe collision did leave a "five or six foot long scrape mark" along the right side of the bus, Minger said.\nPolice responded to the call at 1:27 p.m. and transported Shayan to the hospital with head injuries. She was treated and discharged.\nThe driver, Brian R. Noojin, 31, a resident of S. Winslow Court, was not at fault in the accident, according to the police report. Noojin was cited for having an expired license, which expired "just last month," Minger said.\nJames Hosler, director of campus bus services, was unavailable for comment.
