The Hoosiers might not have competed against the toughest competition this weekend at the Hoosier Hills Open, but they came away with experience that will help in the future.\nThe open meet allowed the rookie athletes to compete and the experienced athletes to hone their skills or even take the weekend off to rest.\nBut the Hoosiers who did compete came away with some good performances.\nThe pole vaulting trio of junior Dino Efthimiou, sixth-year senior Kris Mack and junior Jon Lange continued their dominance in the event by sweeping the top three places.\nSophomores Matt Harris and Micah Harvey turned in their second best performances of the year to finish second and fifth respectively.\nDistance runners sophomore Jeff Zeha and senior Josh Trisler challenged the mile and finished second and third respectively in a tight race.\nSophomore Hasaan Reddick returned to action Saturday after a long hiatus because of illness and claimed first in the triple jump.\nThe weekend helped IU prepare for the most important weekend of the year, the Big Ten championship Saturday and Sunday.
