Team looks to extinguish Flames

The IU baseball team will face the University of Illinois at Chicago in a three-game series at 3 p.m. today at Sembower Field. Coming off a 6-0 shutout of DePauw Friday, the Hoosiers are going to try to avoid becoming UIC's third victim in 10 games. \nThe Flames handed Northwestern one loss with another victory against Belmont. UIC has lost three consecutive and eight of its last nine contests. The Flames and the Hoosiers have only faced each other once, which IU won 10-0 last spring.\nCoach Bob Morgan is looking to throw junior Brad Edwards on Friday's opening contest, senior Nick Otte Saturday and either seniors David Ferris or Matt Rice finishing the series Sunday. The decision on Sunday's starter will be a game time decision.\nLeading the offense for the Flames is senior infielder Bob Rosinski, batting .343 with two home runs and 12 RBIs. Leading the Hoosiers offense are senior Blake St. Clair, junior Eric Blakeley and freshman Mark Calkins. They are the only players who have started every game and are batting higher than .330, combining for 31 RBIs and five home runs.\nFriday's game will be played at 3 p.m., Saturday's at noon and Sunday's finale at 1 p.m.
