The baseball team just wants spring break to get here so it can play in Florida for a week. \nTuesday's game against Xavier was canceled because of cold weather and even with a slight warm-up forecasted for today's game with Wright State, it will still be cold. Today's game will be the last one before the Hoosiers head south to Florida to play seven games in eight days during spring break. \nBecause they are playing many games in a short time, the contest with the Raiders is that much more important. If today's game were to be canceled, the Hoosiers would be off for one week before playing their first game March 10 in Homestead, Fla., against Manhattan. That is something coach Bob Morgan said he doesn't want to see.\n"Wednesday looks like a possibility, but we'll just have to wait and see and go from there," Morgan said. "As long as we get one (of this week's games) in, we'll be OK because we need to get back out there and play." \nWright State comes into today's game with a 2-8 record, its only wins coming against Western Carolina and Morehead State. It has lost five of its last six games.\n"Wright State was young last year, so they got a lot of their kids back, but they are in the same league as (last weekend's opponent) Illinois-Chicago, so they'll be competitive," Morgan said. "Our real focus isn't so much on our opponents as it is ourselves and how we play."\nFreshman Chris Behrens is scheduled to make the start for the Hoosiers. Behrens is one of the few starters who has been successful this season with a 1.00 ERA in four appearances, two wins and one save.\n"I need to go out there with a good mind-set," Behrens said. "Every time you should start you just want to do well. You want to throw strikes, you want to make your defense work and go out there and do the best you can. Just coming out and doing what you have to do."\nOffense has been less productive with the cold weather. In the Illinois-Chicago series last weekend, IU scored only three earned runs in two games.\n"Some days are hitters' days and some days it's been so darn cold that it's just not a hitters' day," Morgan said. "It's windy, it's cold -- wind chill is like 10 degrees -- and it's like 35 out there so those are tough hitters' days. Those should be good pitchers' days and that happened on Friday because only one inning were any runs scored. It was a tough hitters' day but our pitchers didn't use it to our advantage as much as we needed to."\nThe Hoosiers also want to get this game in to help build on aspects of the game they know they need to work on, such as team unity.\n"We're looking to come out strong, get good team unity and get back into it again since we had a tough (first game) in the past series last weekend," junior Eric Blakeley said. "We came back to win 8-3 (Saturday), but I think we hit the ball six times. We're looking to come out, play hard, get some good pitching and start our hitting back up again."\nAlthough there is an urgency to get this game in, Morgan said he has no hesitations about canceling the contest if he feels the need.\n"We played on Friday and it was terrible. We might just cancel because it's not worth it," Morgan said. "It's counterproductive. You don't get anything out of it"
