Chilly weather kept the softball team from playing its doubleheader against Ball State Sunday. Today the Hoosiers will get another chance to do battle if the weather cooperates. \nWith cold weather forecasted, the Hoosiers (10-17) travel to Louisville (20-10) for a 4 p.m. doubleheader. \nIU met the Cardinals March 11 in the Kentucky Tournament, with IU edging the Cards 1-0. IU squeaked out of Lexington after freshman Heather Stillians scored the winning run on a bases-loaded ground ball hit by sophomore Lisa Mattke. Mattke's dribbler rolled to the pitcher, who threw the ball home. The Louisville catcher failed to step on home plate, allowing Stillians to score. The loss was Louisville's only loss in the tournament. \nBefore IU's 1-0 win against in-state foe Indiana State Thursday, the Hoosiers had lost four consecutive games and seven of their last eight. Today's contest marks the final non-conference contest for IU before it opens Big Ten play against Wisconsin Friday. \nThe road will be nothing new for IU, which opened its season with 24 consecutive games away from Bloomington. Today's trip is the Hoosiers' second to Kentucky.
