The women's tennis team puts its four-match winning streak on the line when it plays host to No. 7 Notre Dame at 3 p.m. today at the IU Tennis Center.\nIU (11-6, 2-2 Big Ten) has been a one-team wrecking crew, winning the last four matches with a combined 25-3 record, including a perfect 14-0 two-match weekend at home.\nIn addition to being the highest-ranked team IU has faced this year, Notre Dame (17-4) is on a hot streak, winning seven of its last eight and 11 of its last 13. Although IU has dominated the series 10-5 against Notre Dame, the Irish shut out the Hoosiers last season 9-0.\nDespite Notre Dame's impressive record, IU head coach Lin Loring said she is not scared. \n"We are definitely not intimidated," Loring said. "They have a really good team this year, but historically we have done really well against Notre Dame. They have a lot of girls that can hit the ball really hard, so if we can neutralize their power, that will really help our chances." \nNotre Dame's success can be accredited to the play of its All-American senior, Michelle Dasso. Sunday, Dasso defeated Delphine Troch of William and Mary to extend her home winning streak to an impressive 30 consecutive matches. \nBattling Dasso at the No. 1 singles spot will be senior Kelly Blanch. Blanch won her last three matches by taking 36 of 39 games, bringing her record to 13-10 overall. \nLoring said the Dasso-Blanch match will not be the first time the two have locked horns.\n "Kelly Blanch played (Dasso) when they were freshmen at the No. 2 singles spot," Loring said. "Kelly won that match at Notre Dame, so she can do it here."\n Unfortunately for the Hoosiers, Dasso is not one dimensional. The All-American teams up with junior Becky Varnum to form the fifth-ranked doubles duo in the country. The tandem brings a 16-2 record to the table and will be gunning for its 14th consecutive victory.\n IU counters with Blanch, and she will probably be joined by sophomore Jessica Levin. Blanch and Levin have been shuffled through different partners this season but have recently shown success, bringing their record to 8-2 this season. Also impressive has been the No. 2 doubles spot for the Hoosiers, with junior Karie Schlukebir and freshman Linda Tran a perfect 2-0 against Big Ten opponents. \nWeather permitting, the Hoosiers hope to play their first match outdoors at home.\n"Playing outdoors can really help us out," Loring said. "It should slow the game down. Power hitters like they have really prefer to play on the faster indoor courts"
