Just a couple months ago, Mike Davis was wondering whether or not he would be the next head coach for IU's men's basketball team. Not only will he be leading the Hoosiers into action next season, he will be the leader for the conference's best as he heads up the Big Ten foreign tours team in August. The trip will feature games in England and Ireland Aug. 8-19.\nThis will mark the 10th trip overseas for the Big Ten, as the tour began in 1991 and has been held every year since with the exception of 2000. \n"This is a terrific opportunity and I want to thank the Big Ten for providing me the chance to work with some of the nation's top players," Davis said in a press release. "It will be a great experience not only for the players but for me as a head coach."\nThe Hoosier coach -- who earned the best record (21-13) for a first-year IU coach -- will take a team with two IU players and one from each Big Ten school to compete for five nights in England and Ireland. The game schedule and roster will be released by the Big Ten at a later date. The team is scheduled to train in Bloomington for three days prior to the trip.\nIn the nine years the conference has taken the trip the team has compiled a 71-30 record.\n"It will be fun having the training camp in Bloomington. It will give people in the community a chance to see some of the up and coming players in the Big Ten," Davis said in a press release.
