OTTAWA -- Health Minister Allan Rock said Tuesday that Canadians shouldn't fear the "remote" possibility of an outbreak of anthrax disease. \nA man died in Florida last Friday after inhaling the bacterium, a rare way of contracting the disease. Concerns were heightened after anthrax was found in the nostrils of a second man who is a co-worker. \nInvestigators suspect foul play rather than an environmental source in the Florida anthrax cases. The FBI has sealed off the offices of American Media Inc., where both men worked. \nRock said his department has been in daily contact with authorities in the United States, including the Center for Disease Control. \n"But let me reassure Canadians that the biggest disease we have to face right now is fear, and there's no reason for Canadians to regard this as anything but a remote threat," Rock said after a cabinet meeting.
