The volleyball team is anxious.\n"We're hungry for a win," said senior Disney Bronnenberg. \nTheir recent loss to St. Louis has left the team with a taste for victory. Before heading to St. Louis, coach Katie Weismiller said they were ready to play their best, especially in conference games.\n"We've gained a little more confidence from the Big Ten teams that we have played," Weismiller said. "We've played against teams in the top 20 and realized we can compete with these people."\nThe team's confidence was high after a win against Iowa last weekend, but practices and\nconfidence weren't enough to pull off a win at St. Louis University (5-8, 2-3 C-USA). The Hoosiers took on the Billikens in the rescheduled game Oct. 9. St. Louis managed to come out on top after four games and defeat the Hoosiers. \n"We were confident going in and still didn't pull off the win. We came in today and worked hard and that's the plan for the rest of the week," Bronnenberg said at practice Wednesday.\nSophomore Katie Pollom believes the team is ready for the weekend.\n"It's always disappointing to lose but it just makes us work harder and we have to refocus and think about the next game."\nThe Hoosiers have been doing just that and said they are ready to take on the Michigan State Spartans and the Michigan Wolverines, two teams that will not be easy to beat.\nTonight the Hoosiers look to defeat the Spartans, who beat the Hoosiers in both matches last year. The Spartans are 10-3, carrying a 3-3 record in the Big Ten.\nThe Michigan Wolverines will make a trip to IU Saturday. They stand at 8-5 and 4-2 in the Big Ten. Last year the Wolverines were able to beat the Hoosiers on their home court but couldn't pull off a win here in IU.\nThe Hoosiers should be glad both teams are making the trip to Bloomington, since neither team has lost a game on their home court.\nAfter the loss to St. Louis, the Hoosiers have realized some things they need to work on to improve their chances of victories this weekend.\n"The St. Louis game left us disappointed," Pollom said. "But it showed us what we really need to concentrate on. Blocking needs to improve, especially for me personally, I really need to close the block. We need to eliminate some of our errors and stay aggressive."\nPollom also said they need to go at the other teams from the beginning, not get down, and to come out strong in the end.\n"If we can get stronger and come together, we can gain momentum a little bit more than we have," Bronnenberg said. "We're hungry to go after a team. That's what we feel right now more than anything"
