Offense earns weekly honors\nUSA Today named Hoosier senior quarterback Antwaan Randle El the National-Player-of-the-Week Monday after compiling 149 rushing yards, 51 passing yards and one touchdown Saturday in East Lansing, Mich. in a 37-28 victory over then No. 22 Michigan State.\nAlong with leading the Hoosiers to an upset over the Spartans, Randle El ran into the top spot for rushing by a quarterback with 3,645 yards in 41 games. He also moved into 13th on the NCAA Division I-A total yardage list with 10,599 yards.\nSenior running back Levron Williams joined Randle El in the honors category by garnering the Big Ten Offensive Player-of-the-Week award for his 251 yard rushing effort against Michigan State. In Big Ten play, Williams is averaging 162.3 yards a game and eclipsed the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the season, tallying 16 touchdowns in 2001.\nPujols, Suzuki named top rookies\nNEW YORK -- Ichiro Suzuki has a lot more confidence than the average rookie. Then again, he's not the average rookie.\nThe 28-year-old Seattle outfielder became the second straight Japanese player to win the American League Rookie of the Year award and wasn't surprised by Monday's vote.\n"I was a little embarrassed to be called a rookie here in the United States," he said through a translator. "I was so relieved today when I heard this announcement I won the Rookie of the Year award because I felt this was an award I should have won without any doubt."\nSuzuki, who came to the major leagues after nine seasons in the Japanese Pacific League, received 27 of 28 first-place votes from a panel of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.\nAlbert Pujols of St. Louis was a unanimous choice for the National League rookie award.\n"It's a pretty good honor," the 21-year-old Pujols said. "You only get it one year, and so I'm happy I got it."\nIU-Purdue game time set\nThe Indiana-Purdue football game on Nov. 24 will start at 12:10 p.m.and will be televised by ESPN Regional, it was announced Monday .\nThe Boilermakers have won the last four Old Oaken Bucket games and leads the all-time series 63-34-6.
