IU powerlifter sets record\nIU graduate student Michelle Amsden won the junior and open divisions at the National Powerlifting tournament last weekend. Amsden set a collegiate record by lifting 341 pounds in squats, and set both the junior and collegiate records in the bench press by lifting 203 pounds. \nAmsden\'s final total of 909 pounds lifted was also a junior and collegiate record.\nWater Polo team drops match\nThe IU women's water polo team defeated No. 19 Brown and Villanova, but lost to UMass in the Princeton Invitational on Saturday. The Hoosiers ended the weekend on Sunday with a loss to tournament host Princeton, 11-10.\nThe Hoosiers (4-7) faced Villanova Saturday afternoon. The competition followed IU's 5-4 victory over Brown. Against Villanova, the Hoosiers had an early 4-0 lead, but Villanova scored three goals to trail by two at halftime, 5-3.\nThat was the closet Villanova would get to the Hoosiers, who was victorious by a score of 13-6.\nBut after two staright victories, IU dropped its third and final match to the University of Massachusetts. The match against UMass saw eight lead changes, but the Hoosiers were unable to hang on to the lead, and dropped the close match 10-9.\nIU had a 9-8 lead with just under three minutes left, but UMass scored two unanswered points for the win. A last-second tip-in attempt for the Hoosiers was unsuccessful, as IU remains winless against UMass.\nKentucky players suspended\nTwo Kentucky men's basketball players were suspended from the team for this Tuesday\'s game against Tennessee.\nKentucky coach Tubby Smith suspended sophomore guards Gerald Fitch and Cory Sears the Tennessee game after saying in a statement Sunday, the two were involved in activities that was "detrimental to the team."\nA report from a local Kentucky television station said that the two got into a fight on the team plane following the Wildcats loss to Georgia on Saturday.
