Track teams place in NCAA's\nBoth the men's and women's track teams competed in Indoor Track & Field NCAA Championship in Fayetteville, Ark. over spring break. The women finished in eighth place overall, while the men completed the competition in the 42nd spot. This is the highest the women have placed since a seventh place in 1990, while the five points earned by the men's team is the highest mark they have received since 1996.\nThe women finished with 23 points, which is the school's highest point total ever. The points were a result of the high finishes of juniors Rachelle Boone and Danielle Carruthers in the women\'s 60-meter dash final. The pair finished in fifth and sixth place respectively. \nFour men competed for the Hoosiers and the top points were earned by freshman Aarik Wilson who finished the high jump final in fourth place and got the Hoosiers on the scoreboard by picking up five points. \nBaseball team undefeated in trip\nThe IU baseball team headed south for spring break to Bradenton, Fla. to participate in a week of games from March 9-15, and the Hoosiers returned with a perfect 7-0 record on the week. With the undefeated week, the team's record improves to 12-3.\nThe first three victories of the opening weekend were against Northern Illinois, 9-5, Bucknell, 8-4, and Manhattan 21-1. \nFollowing the Manhattan blowout, IU beat Yale University, 7-2, March 12. The Hoosiers jumped to a quick lead in the game and, behind three strong pitchers, retained the lead.\nThe Hoosiers returned to action March 14 against Northern Iowa. After taking the previous day off, IU gained a 8-4 victory over the Panthers.\nIU rounded out the week with a squeaker win past Dartmouth, 4-2, and finished with another blowout, this time against Farleigh Dickinson, 13-4.\nThe Hoosiers return home Wednesday to face Valparaiso at 3 p.m.\nWomen's tennis wins Big Ten game\nThe women's tennis team was in action over spring break, and picked up its first Big Ten win against No. 35 Illinois March 10. The previous day, the Hoosiers fell at home to No.13 Northwestern. IU was unable to pick up the doubles point after dropping all three matches and only mustered two victories in the singles competition in the 5-2 defeat.\nThe following day, IU beat the Fighting Illini 4-3. IU won the doubles point against Illinois and won three singles matches to earn the win.\nThe Hoosiers rounded out break competition at UNLV, but fell to Rebels 4-3.\nIU's record is 11-4. The Hoosiers are back this upcoming weekend at Duke and NC State.
