Rain shortened the IU women's golf team's final tournament before the Big Ten championships and finalized a fourth place finish the team forged during the first two rounds. The ten-team field competed at the famous Par-72, 6,037-yard Ohio State University Scarlet Golf Course.\nIn each of their last two tournaments before Saturday, the Hoosiers took second place and watched the Michigan Wolverines take first. Although Michigan did not compete at the Lady Buckeye Invite, the Hoosiers still faced tough talent from the conference. \nKent State won the tournament with a 597 team score, followed by Ohio State six strokes back and Michigan State with a 604. IU shot a team 614 to take fourth place by six strokes over Purdue. \nIU opened the tournament with a first round 302, only two shots out of first place. Sophomore Danah Ford shot a 73, sophomore Mary Lidester shot a 75 and sophomore Karen Dennison and senior captain Tiffany Fisher each shot 77. \nBut, in the second round, the Hoosiers shot ten strokes higher as a team and fell to fourth place. After posting all sub-80 rounds in the first round, three Hoosiers -- Lidester, Fisher and sophomore Ambry Bishop -- shot over 80. Junior Cara Stuckey's 74 led the team in the second round, followed by Dennison with another 77. \nSunday, inclement weather forced the cancellation of the final round. Ford finished the tournament in the top ten, tied for the ninth spot in the individual standings with a 152. Stuckey finished tied for 11th with a 153 and Dennison tied for 16th with a 154. \nGabby Wedding of Kent State won the individual title with a 147 and teammate Martina Gillen, Natalie Aber of Ohio State and Emily Bastel of Michigan State all tied for second with 149. \nThe Hoosiers next compete at the Big Ten Tournament in Champaign, Ill. on April 26-28.
