Juniors lead 9th-place finish

The IU men's golf team posted a final round score of 295 in the Marshall Invitational on Saturday. The Hoosiers tied with Wisconsin for ninth place in the 20-team field. \nA pair of juniors led the way for the Hoosiers in the final round. Ben Davidson fired a 73 to cap off a three-round total of 224. Davidson finished the tournament in 25th place. \nJordan also shot a 73 in the final round, finishing the tournament with a score of 227. \nFreshman Jeff Overton (76-75-74--225) followed with a 74, and Heath Peters (76-74-75--225) carded a 75. Peters and Overton ended the tournament tied for 31st.\nJunior Mike Miller (75-77-85--237) struggled to a final round 85 on Saturday. \nThe Hoosiers' 295 at the Guyan Golf & Country Club was the fourth-best score of the third round, which pleased head coach Mike Mayer.\n"We had a pretty good round today, and that is something we will be able to build on in the future," said Mayer. "We're beginning to see some consistent play out of some of our guys, which means low numbers will start to come"
