Junior Jennifer Schaffer, who felt the brunt of Friday's first crash on Lap 6 of the 14th women's Little 500, is resting comfortably after a horrific pile-up in turn 1.\nSchaffer, who started the race for Alpha Phi, suffered fractures to her pelvis and wrist.\nSchaffer was in the middle of a 15-bike pack going through the track's first turn, when wheels touched, sending six teams crashing to the black cinder track. While the other five teams' riders were able to walk off the track, Schaffer was knocked unconscious and had to be removed via a stretcher. The paramedics on scene applied oxygen to Schaffer as they rushed her to an ambulance trackside.\nThe race stayed under caution for four laps while medical crews attended to Schaffer.\nWith only three riders, Alpha Phi was able to hold its qualifying position in finishing 15th, five laps behind the Roadrunners, the race's winners.
