Women's doubles team advances\nIn the Midwest Regional Championship Sunday, the pair of senior Karie Schlukebir and junior Linda Tran advanced to the finals but fell 8-3. Schlukebir and Tran were ranked first in the field.\nThe team began the event with an 8-2 win against Xavier's Lauren Clary and Stephanie Bauer. They advanced to the next round with a close win 8-6. The duo then swept the next pair, Yale's Ashley and Karlyn Martin, 8-0 in the semifinal.\nThe tournament was held in Bloomington as part of the ITA's Summer Circuit. The team will compete in the series' Midwest Regional at Notre Dame before returning to Bloomington, Aug. 10-14, for the National Championship.\nSenior, alumni place in championship\nAlumni Tom Davidson and Erin Quinn and senior Sara Reiling competed in the 2002 Speedo National Diving Championships Monday-Sunday, and Davidson came home with a national championship while Quinn and Reiling advanced to the finals.\nDavidson won the gold in the 1-meter event with a score of 405.15. This is Davidson's third straight national championship.\nQuinn enters the finals of the women's three-meter as the No. 7 seed with a score of 479.28, and Reiling enters the same event as the No. 4 seed with 498.30. The two will battle it out Friday at Southern Methodist University.
