Women fair well at Mt. Sac Relays\nA few members of the IU women's track and field team went to California this past weekend and had a successful trip. Senior Rachelle Boone reached the qualifying mark for regionals in the 200 meter with a time of 23.36 seconds. She also won her heat in the 100 meter.\nSenior Danielle Carruthers also had a first place finish. She won her 100 meter hurdle event in a time of 13.04 seconds. Senior Rose Richmond placed 10th in the long jump, and junior Lauren Chesnut placed eighth in the triple jump. The meet featured top talent from around the country. \nIllinois' coach Self heads to Kansas\nLAWRENCE, Kan. -- Bill Self arrived on Kansas' campus and joined basketball players for a meal Sunday amid reports that he agreed to leave Illinois and coach the Jayhawks.\nKansas scheduled a news conference for Monday at 1 p.m. CDT to "introduce its men's basketball coach."\nJessica Johansen, the Jayhawks' equipment manager, said Self ate on campus Sunday with players, boosters and athletic staff. "I met him briefly," said Johansen, who wouldn't say whether Self was introduced as Kansas' new coach during the meal at the school's athletic center.\nReporters were asked to leave the building, and chancellor Robert Hemenway declined comment when he left.\nAn employee at Lawrence Municipal Airport said Self and interim AD Drue Jennings were on a plane that landed at about 2:30 p.m. CDT.\nKansas received permission last week to speak with Self about replacing Roy Williams, who left to coach North Carolina.\nTampa moves on in hockey playoffs\nWASHINGTON -- The road to the Tampa Bay Lightning's first playoff series victory went through St. Louis.\nMake that Martin St. Louis, who scored his fifth goal of the series 4:03 in the third overtime Sunday to give the Lightning a 2-1 victory over the Washington Capitals.\nThe Lightning, after dropping the first two games at home, won four straight to win the best-of-seven series and advance in the playoffs for the first time in their 11-year history.\nTampa Bay's only previous postseason appearance came in 1996, when it lost 4-2 to Philadelphia. The third-seeded Lightning will play No. 2 New Jersey in the second round.\nSt. Louis scored on a power play after the Capitals were whistled for too many men.
