Two water polo players named All-American\nAfter reaching the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament, two Hoosiers from the water polo team -- senior Kristin Stanford and sophomore Krista Peterson -- were named as All-Americans by the American Water Polo Coaches Association. Stanford managed to make the second-team squad, while Peterson was named as an honorable mention.\nBeing named as an All-American is nothing new to Stanford, as she also became Indiana's first All-American when she earned honorable mention honors in 2001 and third-team accolades last season. She was the only player outside of the California area to be named to the team. \nStanford, Indiana's all-time scoring leader, also has many records to her name. She managed to notch a record six goals in a game twice this year, and later broke her own single-season scoring record for the third time in her career with 73 goals. \nPeterson was the first East Coast player ever to earn first team accolades in the three-year history of the NCAA Championship this season. The Hoosiers managed to score four times in the NCAA Championship, and Peterson scored three of those and was credited with the assist on the other.\nWomen's golf star Karen Dennison to play in LPGA Tour\nJunior Karen Dennison, a 2003 All-Big Ten honoree and first-team All-American, had a banner season. \nNow she will get to test her abilities outside of an IU uniform. \nDennison, winner of the Big Ten Championship individual title and recipient of three outright medalist honors throughout the year, has accepted a sponsor's exemption to compete in the 2003 Giant Eagle LPGA Classic June 9-15 at Squaw Creek Country Club in Vienna, Ohio. The Giant Eagle LPGA Classic is one of the top tournaments on the LPGA circuit, and Dennison said she is elated to play in the event.\n"This is a nice way to end a good season for me," Dennison said in a press release. "I'm excited to go out and get a feel for what it takes to play professionally. This is a great opportunity for me to gain experience in a professional atmosphere."\nThis season, her stroke average was just .02 strokes shy of the school record that has stood since 1995. Throughout the 2003 campaign, Dennison has performed well, as she recorded 10 top-10 finishes in 11 events. Her lone finish outside the top-10 was a 20th-place tie in the 108-participant field at the NCAA Central Regional.\nDennison is one of eight IU women's golf players named to the All-American team since the program's inception 22 years ago.
