This weekend will bring hundreds of thousands of race fans to the Indianapolis for the 10th running of the Brickyard 400. This year's race will boast some of the best racers in the NASCAR Winston Cup series. Homegrown racers also will be featured in the event, with Indiana natives Jeff Gordon from Pittsboro seeking his fourth win, Tony Stewart from Rushville and Ryan Newman from South Bend, who has won two of the last three Winston Cup races. \nThe Brickyard 400 is not the only race to garner the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, as the NASCAR Busch Series Kroger 200 and the International Race of Champions will be running Saturday.
The IROC series features racing stars from each of the major American racing venues, including open-wheel racing leagues like the Indy Racing League and Championship Auto Racing Teams along with NASCAR racers. \nThe IROC series race also features equally prepared stock cars based upon the Pontiac Firebird body style. After the IROC race, NASCAR Busch Series drivers will garner the raceway for the the Kroger 200. The Busch contest most likely will have names such as current series leaders David Green and Scott Riggs vying for more points in the championship race. When all is said and done, Indianapolis is going to be full of speed this weekend.
