Team looks to end slump

Hoosiers travel to Michigan hoping for first win since Sept. 27

The Hoosiers travel to Michigan this weekend with hopes of turning their season around at the halfway point of their Big Ten schedule. IU faces Michigan State (13-7, 5-5 Big Ten) Friday night, and Michigan (14-7, 6-4) Saturday. \nThe Hoosiers hope to end an eight-game losing streak in the Big Ten, including a loss to both Michigan schools Oct. 10-11. After starting the Big Ten season with two wins and sporting an overall record of 9-4, a four-week long losing streak has the Hoosiers sitting at 2-8 in the Big Ten and 9-12 overall. \nOn top of losing eight straight matches, IU will attempt to end another streak of seven straight road losses. With all nine of the Hoosiers' wins coming at home, IU is faced with one more two-game test before coming back to University Gym.\nSenior middle blocker Melissa Brewer and junior outside hitter Christina Archibald will look to continue their recent personal successes, and hope that can help lead them to a win. Brewer moved into second place on IU's all-time block list last weekend with six block assists against Northwestern, as Archibald continued her astonishing streak of 32 games with double digit kills.\nEach game begins at 7 p.m. this weekend. The Hoosiers return home next Friday, Nov. 7, as IU hosts Penn State.
