Former IU softball standout Stormy Hanson was drafted Saturday by the San Antonio Armadillos of the National Pro Fastpitch. She was chosen 17th overall, first in the third round.\n"I am very excited to have been drafted," Hanson said in a statement. "I am grateful for the coaching staff here at Indiana and the footwork that they did to see that I was entered into the draft. I am also excited that I will be able to continue my softball career and play on such a different level."\nAlso selected to the Armadillos was Hoosier assistant coach Stacey Phillips. Phillips was named an assistant coach in 2003 after finishing up a great career at Michigan State.\nHanson was a catcher for the Hoosiers and hit .314 for her career. She is fifth all-time in school history with 21 home runs and ninth all-time in doubles with 32. Her senior season, Hanson was named to the All-Mideast Region first team.
